I moved schools to Morgan County my seventh grade year and knew absolutely no one. I was scared and feeling insecure. I remember how devastated I was to leave my old school and I was even "plotting" to return to and graduate from my old school. However, overtime I met my best friend and my other friends as well as my boyfriend of two years. Now, I am a junior here and I love this county more than anything in the world. I have found my place here and I feel like I belong. Morgan County even helped me better discover my own identity - what makes me, ME. I didn't start here, but now I call it home and I couldn't imagine myself being anywhere else for the remainder of my high school career and maybe even post-college.... Hahira is a great place to visit if you are ever in the area. There are fun parades that take place in Hahira, my favorite being the Honey Bee parade. Another great event that happens in Hahira is the Honey Bee Festival that occurs each year. Hahira is small, but the community is strong. I attended Hahira Middle School, then onto Lowndes High School. The small town rivalry between Lowndes County High School and Valdosta City School is a special site to see. Everyone comes together over the football game and the stadiums are packed with people. The community of Lowndes County to me is something that of a ball of twine all interconnected within each other. The Christ centered community in Lowndes County is a very strong force of impact within the majority of the residents. I am proud to have come from Lowndes County and to know the people within it....
