Andy Kurtzig is the CEO of JustAnswer. He started JustAnswer in 2003 and spent the first two and a half years programming the website and listening to users. JustAnswer is the third in a series of successful companies Kurtzig has founded. While a student at the University of California, Berkeley, he started Anser Corp, which developed software for the newspaper industry. After ANSER was acquired, he founded eBenefits, an internet Human Resources application. At eBenefits, he partnered with Fortune 500 companies Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and Marsh & McLennan, raised venture capital from NEA, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and WR Hambrecht, and then eBenefits was acquired. Kurtzig is also an occasional angel investor with past successful investments including StubHub (acquired by eBay) and iLike (acquired by MySpace). Recently named one of the Bay Area's most admired CEOs by the San Francisco Business Times, Kurtzig is also an active philanthropist. He and his wife Sara founded and host the annual Royal Ball to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. When not working, Kurtzig enjoys playing with his three young kids.
