ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Alien Tape is a multifunctional, double-sided, reusable tape that says it can be used for almost anything. The box says it’s waterproof, can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Luckily, we had some framed art from local artists that needed to be hung up in our conference room.
I applied two strips to the back of one picture frame. The tape itself is pretty thick and sticky, so it’s a little hard to cut through.
After removing the backing of the tape, I picked my placement and stuck the frame to the wall. Making sure to press the top and bottom firmly, the frame felt like it was securely attached to the wall!
I tested it on a few more frames to make sure that the result was the same. After hanging up the second frame, the 10-foot roll was about halfway gone.
An important note in the directions said the product should be placed permanently on painted walls but could be removed by spraying water on the edges of the tape.
If you were to reuse the tape, the directions say that rinsing it with water and allowing it to dry is all that it takes to restore its original stickiness.
Even though we weren’t able to use it on any outdoor surfaces or test its reusability, the tape was easy to use and successfully and securely hung the frames on the walls.
It's good for very light items, but assume ever you stick it to, it will damage to some degree. I used it to hold up a lightweight board, and despite spraying with water to loosen it up, it still took a chunk of my drywall with it. I've used it to hold up our kitty's scratch board, and it's working great.
If the tape or the surface is too hot or too cold, it won't stick. If it's sweltering outside, wait until the evening when it cools down to apply the tape.
1. IT'S ONE OF THE TOUGHEST MATERIALS OUT THERE. 3M VHB tape offers one of the strongest bonds out of any adhesive. In fact, VHB tape has been certified in the industry to have a powerful bond (it's in the name: VHB = “Very High Bond”).
Apply heat. Much like warm water softens tape, heat can help melt stubborn adhesives without damaging the surface of your floor or wall. Just one minute with a hairdryer, heat gun or even a blow torch will do the trick. Gently scrape off the adhesive while you apply heat on the surface of your floor or wall.
You can use water to clean the dusty nano tape, and after cleaning can restore 90% of the stickiness, is an environmentally friendly reusable new tape.
Alien Tape is also reusable as you can wash it,rinse it and use it again and again. This product can be used on any surface and does not leave a residue behind,it's also easy to tear, holds strong and is water proof as well.

The tape always remains soft. Q: Can you use this to hold down an area rug on carpet ( my area is curling on the corners) & will it ruin my carpet (top side)? It will hold your rug down, but depending on the amount of dust accumulated and how the ru… I would guess 1 or 2 lbs per inch of vertical surface adhesion.

It works so well! This is just the most amazing product, in fact it almost works too well, I haven't figured out how to remove it. It's easy, no mess, used for a number of things and will buy more. Hard to believe it's reusable, but haven't tried that yet.
