Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape is the extra strong adhesive tape designed to patch holes, cracks, gaps and tears. The rubberised, UV resistant backing can be flexed and stretched during application to adapt to the surface. Suitable for hot, cold, wet and dry conditions, Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape forms a permanent bond which is 100% waterproof and airtight. Great for roofing, window frames, gutters, drainage pipes, tarpaulin, caravans and trailers, camping, pond liners, paddling pools and inflatables.
The approximate shelf life of Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal is up to 2 years, unopened from date of manufacture. Once opened there is no standard time, it will be dependent on storage conditions and age of the product, up to 9/12 months is a good guideline.
Gorilla Tape does not work on materials with high oil or plasticizer content, such as EPDM rubber or PVC. An acrylic tape, such as Crystal Clear Gorilla Tape, may be better suited for these materials.
Butyl tape is a solvent-based rubber adhesive developed to augment traditional rubber adhesives. Because it is UV resistant, less temperature sensitive, and maintains adhesion at lower temperatures than natural rubber, butyl is an excellent solution for outdoor, waterproof tape.
The Gorilla Tape was also among the strongest tapes in our adhesion strength test, second only to Gaffer Power. (In truth, both took a backseat to the astonishing holding power of FiberFix, but that's not really a duct tape.)
Usually waterproof tapes tend to last for about five years before their adhesive starts to break down. So you will want to go for a tape that will meet your adhesive requirements.
