The English word “home” is from the Old English word hām (not the pig) which actually refers to a village or estate where many “souls” are gathered. It implies there's a physical dwelling involved, but the main idea is that it's a gathering of people.

After a hive-minded alien race called the Boov conquer the Earth, they relocate the planet's human population -- all except for a little girl named Tip (Rihanna), who's managed to hide from the aliens. When Tip meets a fugitive Boov called Oh (Jim Parsons), there's mutual distrust. However, Oh is not like his comrades; he craves friendship and fun. As their distrust fades, the pair set out together to find Tip's mother, but, unbeknown to them, the Gorg -- enemies of the Boov -- are en route.

A movie review of “Home”: This animated feature, about purple aliens invading Earth, works moderately well thanks largely to the voice talents of Jim Parsons and Steve Martin.

Led by the cowardly, arrogant Captain Smek (Steve Martin), the Boov are six-legged creatures with wide-set eyes and pigtail ears who change skin colors with their moods and speak in a bizarre, jumbled, contraction-free version of English. For the most part, the Boov are an ornery bunch who keep to themselves.

When the Boov arrive on Earth, they suck up all humans into their ships and deposit them in a giant city called "HappyHumansTown" in the middle of Australia. (Tip is missed because her cat clings to her head, thus causing the Boov to mistake her for a feline.) The Boov, again, think this is doing humanity a favor.

The Boov, unlike most other species, have a total of seven separate sexes: male, female, boygirl, girlboy, boyboy, boyboygirl and boyboyboyboy.

It is now unknown where her father is.

Home: The Boov Sequel, known in other territories as Home 2: The Boov Sequel, or just called Home 2 is a American 2025 3D computer-animated comedy-drama adventure fantasy film that serves as a sequel to 2015's Home. Chris Jenkins will return to produce the film.
