With autocomplete, you can enter a Google search more quickly. You can turn off or remove certain autocomplete predictions or report issues with your predictions.
Important: When "Personal results" are off, you won't get personalized predictions or recommendations based on your past searches. If "Web & App Activity" is on, your Search history is saved in your Google Account and can give you more personalized experiences in other Google services. Learn how to find & control your Web & App Activity.
If you’re signed in to your Google Account and "Personal results" are on, you can also get personalized predictions and recommendations in Google Search. If you don’t want to get predictions and recommendations, turn off Personal results.
At the bottom, click Settings Search settings Other settings.
Under "Desktop," turn offAutocomplete with trending searches.
Turn off related searches
If you’re signed out of your Google Account when you search on Google, you may find recommendations related to your recent search. If you don’t want to get these, turn off Search customization.
Tip: Search customization is only available if you accept all cookies. You can manage your cookies, including rejecting them, at any time, or sign in to your Google Account to control what’s saved to your account.
Report a prediction
While we do our best to prevent inappropriate predictions, we don’t always get it right. You can report a prediction you think violates one of the autocomplete policies.
Language: The language associated with a particular keyword search can influence the predictions that are displayed. Search volume: Consistent search volume around a specific keyword can trigger a keyword being added to Google autocomplete (even if that volume is relatively low).
The Place autocomplete service will return as suggestions only places from Google database. These place predictions have a place ID, so you can resolve them to position on the map. The Query autocomplete service will return as suggestions both places from Google database and geographic query predictions.
Open Chrome. In the top right, click the Chrome menu>Click Settings > Show advanced settings. In the "Privacy" section, uncheck "Use prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar.
Autocomplete is a feature within Google Search that makes it faster to complete searches that you start to type. Go to Settings > keyboard > tap your language keyboard. Uncheck Suggest text. Press the Back key to return to the keyboard screen. Press advanced > reset suggestions to remove all the words you have added to your suggestion list, but keep the ones that came with your phone.
As you type, suggestions will appear as lighter gray text. Press either the tab key or the right arrow key to accept the suggestion. The suggested text will then become part of your document, and you can continue typing. If Smart Compose makes a suggestion that you don't like, just ignore it and keep typing.
