Turn off Personal results

Important: When "Personal results" are off, you won't get personalized predictions or recommendations based on your past searches. If "Web & App Activity" is on, your Search history is saved in your Google Account and can give you more personalized experiences in other Google services. Learn how to find & control your Web & App Activity.

If you’re signed in to your Google Account and "Personal results" are on, you can also get personalized predictions and recommendations in Google Search. If you don’t want to get predictions and recommendations, turn off Personal results.

Turn off trending searches

If you don't want to get trending searches, you can change your settings.

  1. On your computer, go to google.com.
  2. At the bottom, click Settings Manage Google autocomplete predictions - Computer (1) Search settings Manage Google autocomplete predictions - Computer (2) Other settings.
  3. Under "Desktop," turn offAutocomplete with trending searches.

Turn off related searches

If you’re signed out of your Google Account when you search on Google, you may find recommendations related to your recent search. If you don’t want to get these, turn off Search customization.

  1. On your computer, go to google.com.
  2. At the bottom, tap Settings Manage Google autocomplete predictions - Computer (3) Search settings.
  3. Turn off Search customization.

Tip: Search customization is only available if you accept all cookies. You can manage your cookies, including rejecting them, at any time, or sign in to your Google Account to control what’s saved to your account.

Report a prediction

While we do our best to prevent inappropriate predictions, we don’t always get it right. You can report a prediction you think violates one of the autocomplete policies.

  1. On your computer, go to google.com.
  2. In the search bar, enter a search.
  3. Predictions appear below the search bar. Below the prediction, click Report inappropriate predictions.
  4. Provide your feedback.
  5. Click Send.

We’ll analyze your feedback, but won't automatically remove reported predictions.
