What is the technological process? ›

The technological process mainly concerns shaping the workpiece into the final product (decrement and additive techniques). Quality control is integral with the production process, especially the technological process.

Technological design is similar to scientific investigation. Steps of the technological design process include: identify a problem, research the problem, generate possible solutions, select the best solution, create a model, test the model, refine and retest the model as needed, and communicate the final solution.

What is Technological Progress? Technological progress refers to the discovery of new and improved methods of producing goods. Changes in technology lead to an increase in productivity of labor, capital, and other factors of production. Technology refers to the process through which inputs are transformed into outputs.

Technological change has three important stages; Invention, innovation, and diffusion.

Process technology is the means by whereby manufacturing and processing facilities monitor and control the production of their products. Process technicians oversee many functions from sorting raw materials to inspecting finished goods to ensure their quality.

Another example of process technology is the method by which plastic bottles are recycled into thread. Plastic bottles and other containers made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) can be converted into new products such as fabrics for clothing.

1. Identify the problem. The first step of the technological design process is the identification of the problem. For any new technology to come into existence, there needs to be a need or a desire.

Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to achieve practical ends. It includes highly advanced things like computers, to simple things like hammers and wheels. We are surrounded by technology in our lives, and most of us wouldn't even know how to operate without it.

The four elements of technological change – invention, innovation, imitation and learning – are defined, and a distinction drawn between codified and tacit knowledge. The 'neighbourhood effect' and 'networks' affect the spread of technology.

The fourth stage in the process of technological design is creating a prototype. A prototype is a preliminary model of a product that is created during the design phase. Prototyping is used to test and refine ideas before the final product is created. There are many benefits to creating a prototype.

It involves activities aimed at enhancing the capabilities, functionalities, efficiency, and reliability of technological systems, components, or processes. Technology development encompasses various stages, such as concept design, prototyping, testing, refining, and scaling up for practical applications.
