Today's pages, appointed and sponsored by a senator, must be high school juniors, at least 16 years old, and attend school. Senate page duties consist primarily of delivery of correspondence and legislative material within the Capitol complex.

U.S. Senate Page Program

Pages are paid an annual salary basis of $35,360. Since pages serve for less than a year, they do not earn an entire annual salary. Senate Pages must be sponsored by a Senator. Each session, only 30 positions are available in the U.S. Senate which support its 100 Senators.
