Independent bookstores in the US and other countries have been pushing back against hyper-competitive online marketplaces. Even after the numbers of indie bookstores in the US dropped massively between 1995 and 2009 to 1,651, they have come back fighting.
Clearly, then, physical media isn’t just about the product you get. It’s also about where and how you get it!
In a bookstore, you can find a sense of community that your Kindle just can’t provide!
