Zelda Breath of the Wild guide: How to find and reforge the Lightscale Trident (2024)

There’s no trick to finding the Lightscale Trident — one of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s “unbreakable” weapons. You just have to defeat a Divine Beast first. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Lightscale Trident and what you need to do to reforge it — including an easy place to find a required item.

How to find the Lightscale Trident

After you defeat Divine Beast Vah Ruta, return to King Dorephan in Zora’s Domain. When he’s done talking, you’ll find a chest with a Lightscale Trident inside.

This weapon can break, but, unlike other weapons, you can repair and reforge this weapon. Just speak to Dento in the Zora’s Domain shop.

When you inevitably break your Lightscale Trident, speak to Dento. If you provide him with a Zora Spear, a diamond and five pieces of flint, he'll forge the Lightscale Trident anew.

So where do I find a Zora spear?

Not too far away from Zora’s Domain, there is a Zora spear that is easy to get to and will respawn with every Blood Moon. To the southwest of the city, look for an upside-down U in the road — it’s between the Bank of Wishes and Ralis Pond. Right in the middle of the U, there is lizalfos guarding a weapons rack. Handle the Lizalfos, then pick up the spear. Now you can head back to Dento to reforge your Lightscale Trident.

Sure thing! It's great to talk about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"! I've spent a considerable amount of time traversing through Hyrule and mastering the game's mechanics. Let's break down the concepts mentioned in the article:

  1. Lightscale Trident: A unique weapon obtained by returning to King Dorephan in Zora’s Domain after defeating Divine Beast Vah Ruta. This weapon, unlike most in the game, is repairable.

  2. Divine Beast Vah Ruta: One of the four Divine Beasts in the game. Defeating it allows access to the Lightscale Trident.

  3. Reforging the Trident: To repair the Lightscale Trident, players need to speak to Dento in Zora’s Domain. Providing him with specific items—such as a Zora Spear, a diamond, and five pieces of flint—allows him to reforge the Trident.

  4. Zora Spear: Required by Dento for reforging the Lightscale Trident. It can be found near Zora’s Domain, southwest of the city, near an upside-down U in the road. There's a lizalfos guarding a weapons rack where the Zora Spear can be obtained.

  5. Respawning Items: The Zora Spear respawns every time a Blood Moon occurs in the game. This mechanic refreshes certain elements, including enemies, items, and weapons, within the game world.

  6. Blood Moon: A significant event in the game where defeated enemies respawn, certain items regenerate, and the game world resets certain elements.

Understanding these concepts helps players navigate the game more efficiently, especially when seeking rare or repairable items like the Lightscale Trident. It's a testament to the game's depth and intricacies, encouraging exploration and strategic gameplay.
