Can you use companion voucher on first class?
the companion voucher from the BA Premium Plus card can be used in economy, premium economy, business or first class and is valid for two years. If you choose to redeem in business class, British Airways makes additional seats available for redemption which are not available to other members.
Just because you can book a seat with cash through a travel agent or the BA website doesn't mean you can use your voucher. British Airways only offers a small number of seats on each flight for Avios redemptions. To be able to use your companion voucher, you'll need to find two reward seats on the same flights.

Since the new boarding benefit was tied to a specific reservation, and when a Companion Pass holder adds a companion to their booking, a new reservation is created for the companion the companion would not receive priority boarding.
