Do walls matter in Fallout 4?
Therefore: Walls and chokepoints DO seem worthwhile IF you intend to personally defend your settlement. However, it's best not to build walls all the way at the border of your territory. Pull them inward to reduce the likelihood that enemies spawn inside of them.
Each Settlement produces crops, water, caps and salvage. You can make more money more quickly by building up every Settlement and building stores in every settlement than you ever could with just 1 settlement.
Each settlement needs the numbers next to food and water to be higher than the number of settlers who live there. To increase your food supply, plant crops and assign settlers to manage them. For water, build a few water pumps or – if the settlement is on the coast or contains a large puddle – a water purifier.
Yes bro, you should absolutely upgrade everything possible before going to next town hall level. Because your loot will reduce on moving to higher town hall levels and their defences also will be too difficult to tackle.

Settlers can be equipped with a gun by the player character and they will not consume any ammo, but in order to use that weapon, they need to have at least 1 (one) ammo in their inventory of the type that the equipped weapon uses. That single ammo will never be consumed and act as infinite ammo.

The strongest build according to fans is the Infiltrator; it's designed to take advantage of the Deliverer pistol in V.A.T.S. to drop enemies. Agility and Luck are critical and a few points in whatever you need for essential perks.
To increase happiness, everyone in your settlement needs food, water, a bed, a job, and defense to ward off raiders. Plant plenty of food. Grab plants you find in the wasteland and plant them together in your settlement. Build a water purifier and hook it up to a general as soon as you can.
no because the Diamond city house isn't considered a settlement in a game. You can't link supplies, you can't have settlers, send companions there, etc. You can build stuff in it but that is about it. It is more of a storage area than a settlement.
What is the max settlement population in Fallout 4?
Each settlement has a default max population of 10 settlers plus each point of Charisma the character has, which has a base max of 22 (10 from leveling and +1 from bobblehead and You're SPECIAL! magazine respectively ) before factoring in extra charisma from armor and consumables.
There is no way in the game (meaning without modding) to increase the size of a settlement. If you have any other settlement questions I am wrote a guide about everything I have learned so far. Please let me know if you find out how to do so without mods! Dumping items onto the ground increases settlement size.
There are 30 in the base game, if you include Home Plate in Diamond City. Then there's 4 in Far Harbor, 1 included in Vault-Tec Workshop, 1 in Automatron, and 1 in Nuka-World for a total of 37.
Yes. It makes a difference. Maybe not huge vs lalo for example but you don't see high level competitive bases with level 12 walls. Heck, you don't see many legends bases with level 12 walls.
Better to upgrade your Walls. Because in the earlier stage your focus should be only in Collecting loots so when you collect loots, there should be a good place to save it . If you fail to upgrade your walls , your village will be easily devastated.
The Glowing Sea is best-known for its rare and dangerous ghoul enemy, the Charred Feral Ghoul. These ghouls look bulkier than regular ones, and they're also extremely resistant due to having spent most of their existence under immense amounts of radiation. They're considered the most dangerous non-glowing ghoul type.
Arguably the most powerful weapon in the game is the Nuka-Nuke Launcher found in Nuka-World. It's essentially a Fat Man that has been modified to hurl modified mini-nukes known as Nuka-Nukes at foes. These Nuka-Nukes deal a whopping 833 damage at a decent range from the enemy.
The Railroad is the worst simply because the Institute is making synths to replace humanity and is killing people, and the Railroad doesn't want to stop them, they simply want to "save" the synths they are creating.
Basically just prop power armour with power cores in them (best add a few spare sif possible) around your settlement. When it get's attacked by a raid the next time, some of your settlers will go into one or more of the power armours and fight the enemeis with them. They should then remain in the armors.
Can settlers steal your power armor?
Settlers CAN still steal armor even if it's on a rack. Settlers CAN still steal armor even if it has no core in it. I had a settler steal 22 100% cores from a crate, then jumped in my armor and used it. I had to talk to him to get him to get out of the armor, then trade with him to get my cores back.
Yes. They tend to do it without your consent if you happen to leave fusion cores in your power armor.
The marine armor set is one of the strongest normal armor sets in the game and is only available to players who downloaded the Far Harbor DLC. While this armor set is rather heavy, it boasts almost unrivaled defenses, especially if a player takes the time to upgrade the set to the assault marine armor variant.
Finding rare ingredients
The two rarest substances in Fallout 4 are oil and adhesive. All the duct tape and wonderglue in the Commonwealth isn't enough for dedicated crafters, and making any machinery won't work without lubricating oil.

The number turns green, implying its enough, when you match the population, but according to the tutorial the defense should be the food + water amounts. So if you have 10 people, and have exactly enough food and water for each person, you need 20 defense, not 10.
According to Kotaku, there are a few requirements and stipulations necessary before gamers try this at home: They must have reached the first rank of the Animal Friend perk, and you can't pet a dog while wearing power armor or while holding any weapons.

Minimum of level 50.
The wealthiest merchant based on this information is Mitch, in Far Harbor, with 974 caps. The wealthiest without DLC is Doctor Patricia in Covenant, with 748 caps. I've included that table below, but I've done a little testing myself after first posting this answer, and the numbers don't appear to be accurate.
There is no Brahmin limit, but the fertilizer production is capped at 3/day. Also, the workbench won't store more than 10 fertilizer, so either visit your settlements frequently or use it up via connected settlements.

Upon leaving the Institute building, there is also an opportunity to save a Synth boy who believes you to be his parent. If you feel Synths deserve an equal chance at living amongst humans, then the Railroad faction ending is your best option.
It is a great idea to buy and upgrade your walls and your traps, as they do not affect your war weight largely.
No point defence-wise to have them. Even if you walled the entire area off enemies will just teleport inside. It is part of the dev's shortcut on pathfiding. Fences are useless, since attackers spawn inside the settlement.
Yes and no. Just as is the case with all the previous Fallouts, the developers give you enough detail to recognize the place but not really enough to make it especially accurate. That's still an incredibly impressive feat though, being that they're trying to fit 10,500 square miles of land into a playable video game.
Can the Minutemen destroy the brotherhood?
Brotherhood of Steel gets betrayed and destroyed by the Minutemen - should the player character become hostile to the Brotherhood after the main quest is completed, the player character can ask the Minutemen to help them destroy the Brotherhood, just like in the Minutemen ending.
Yes. The Minutemen are basically a neutral faction. Preston WILL order you to destroy the BOS, however, but only if you choose the Minutemen to destroy the Institute and, basically, go all in with the Minutemen endings.
You can betray the Institute, when you get near the end of the Institutes story they say theyre building "something". At that point you can take that info to the other factions, which effectively puts you on track to end the game with the new faction.
Work on upgrading all structures. If you have fully upgraded all of your walls and are looting resources faster than your builders can use them, it will likely be more efficient to upgrade your Town Hall and complete the remaining upgrades then. Complete the laboratory upgrades for the troops you use and spells.
The higher the war weight gets by upgrading strong defence like Xbows, the stronger opponents you and your clan will get. When people upgrade their town hall to level 9 they are often quick to build the Xbows.
Fifteen to twenty pounds is probably the maximum amount, no matter the type of hardware used. This isn't because of the hardware or the wall, but due to gravity. This weight limit is equal to a small ceiling fan, hanging a plant, or heavier ceiling fan unless blocking is used.
The answer is, they do, but practically it never happens!
If you want to avoid/control your settlement attacks you can do one of two things, Overkill defense (200 defense or higher stops all attacks) or Zero-production population centers. You can accomplish zero production population centers via supply routes.
Spectacle Island comes with the game's largest building area and, apparently, its highest built limit, meaning it's one of the most versatile locations going.
