          Three great things about Yorkshire

          North York Moors National Park

With ancient woods, charming villages, and vast moorland – this natural attraction is full of wonder. From Helmsley to Pickering and Robin Hood’s Bay, there’s plenty to see.

          Literary connections

Culture vultures will find plenty to enjoy in this part of the world. Explore Dracula writer Bram Stoker’s beloved Whitby, or visit the Bronte sisters’ Haworth home and explore the moors and dales that inspired Tolkien.

          York

Historic York is awash with history and culture. Walk the city walls, visit York Minster, and take a step back into Viking times at The Jorvik Centre. Equally enjoyable is a stroll along The Shambles to visit many a quirky shop and pub!

What our park team love about Yorkshire

The Cleveland Way - a spectacular coastal walk - passes right by Blue Dolphin, and has miles of outstanding views.

          Victoria Campbell
Head of Experience at Blue Dolphin, Yorkshire

Filey seafront has a bouncy castle, trampolines and mini fairground rides (it's really fun!), and for bigger versions you can go to Bridlington or Scarborough. Making sandcastles on the beach is a must!

          Kyle Gregory
General Manager at Reighton Sands, Yorkshire

A visit to North Landing Beach is a must: the soft sands and rock pools are fun for all ages to explore, and your tots will love the adventuring into the caves looking for treasure and hearing their voices echo.

          Kelly Newland
General Manager at Thornwick Bay, Yorkshire

Explore the local areas from Whitby to Bridlington.

          Victoria Campbell
Head of Experience at Blue Dolphin, Yorkshire

Filey has quite a few co*cktail bars and restaurants for decent nightlife.

          Kyle Gregory
General Manager at Reighton Sands, Yorkshire

Dogs will love the beach walks or Forge Valley Woods walks around the region.

          Victoria Campbell
Head of Experience at Blue Dolphin, Yorkshire

Thornwick Bay is set in the perfect location for exploring, whether it be on foot, public transport or by car; Bridlington and Scarborough are in easy reach with plenty of beaches along the way for you to enjoy.

          Kelly Newland
General Manager at Thornwick Bay, Yorkshire

Playdale Farm Park, Sea Life Scarborough, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park are all great places to take little ones.

          Victoria Campbell
Head of Experience at Blue Dolphin, Yorkshire

Dog walks on our local beaches are good for the soul. There's also Cool K9 – a dog park in Sherburn.

          Kyle Gregory
General Manager at Reighton Sands, Yorkshire

My favourite coastal walk is from North Landing around to the lighthouse - the scenery is stunning. For those who fancy a longer walk, follow on past the lighthouse and head to South Landing and the RNLI station.

Along the way you may even see the seals nesting in the cove below the lighthouse. A walk full of fresh air, scenery, and lovely food stops.

          Kelly Newland
General Manager at Thornwick Bay, Yorkshire

Playdale Farm Park is located 10 minutes away and is a great day for the family including animals, rides, and play areas. Candy Kingdom and Secret Realm are great indoor play areas too.

General Manager at Reighton Sands, Yorkshire

            Frequently asked questions

Yorkshire is the UK’s largest county. So big in fact that it’s usually split in four for administrative purposes. North, East, South and West Yorkshire all have their own character and charm. Each of them are well worth a visit when you’re in the region.

Yorkshire is home to Britain’s oldest seaside resort. Scarborough has been welcoming visitors from far and wide for the best part of 360 years and is still going strong to this very day.

Yorkshire is home to the highest pub in the whole of England. The Tan Hill Inn is over 1,700 feet above sea level, but the climb is more than worth it for the 30 different ales it serves!

Yorkshire’s size also gives a wide range of settings to discover. From the shores of Filey in the east to the rocky Pennines in the west, Yorkshire is dotted with outdoor experiences that are bound to take your fancy.

Yorkshire’s towns are full of history. Many hark back to their industrial past, with each town contributing to a specific industry. There are two UNESCO Heritage Sites in the county: Salts Mill in Saltaire and Studley Royal Park and Ruins of Fountains Abbey in the north of the county.

Yorkshire’s coast is unrivalled. From the Spurn Heritage Coast in the south to the terrific towns dotted along the journey to Flamborough Head and wonderful Whitby, the North Sea neighbour is a breath of fresh air with breath-taking views to match.

Filey is one of Yorkshire’s finest seaside towns. It’s yours to discover when you stay with us at Blue Dolphin, Primrose Valley or Reighton Sands holiday parks. All three are magnificently dotted along the coast, with picture-perfect beaches and scenery begging to be snapped. Further south near Flamborough sits Thornwick Bay Holiday Park. The picturesque views offered from this park are right up there with the best in the entire Haven family. Find out for yourself by booking a Haven holiday to Yorkshire.
