Re: Million rows in an excel sheet
Unable to open the file. Did you try what Marvin suggested? Also take a look at these points...
With any "slow" file, there are a few things to check...
1. click end/home and see where you end up. If it is nowhere near where you know where your data ends, start CAREFULLY deleting rows and columns till you get to where you now your data ends
2. Check if you have any Conditional Formatting and see if the rules have doubled up (I have seen them repeated 3 and 4 times just in 1 cell)
3. With both CF or Data Validation, check to make sure you are not using full rows/columns, try to restrict the ranges to just what you need - or 2-3 times what you think you will need.
4. Check the same thing for any ARRAY formulasFor large files, Maybe try this...
1. click end/home and see where the cursor lands.
2, if it is "out in the middle of nowhere", start to CAREFULLY delete rows and columns until you get back to the last row and column that you KNOW contains data
3. Save the file under a different name (so you don't mess up the orig file)
4. Close and re-open and see if that helped?Also...
for DV, make sure you are not referencing full-column/row ranges, use only the range you need.
Check for range names that :"grew" or that are no longer needed (some may have come across with the DV sheets)
