What is the easiest class to clear the Palace of the Dead? ›

Currently, Machinist is considered the best job for the task as it can deal high, consistent damage at a range with no cast times. This means it can kite enemies around, staying out of melee range while subjecting them to devastating attacks.

Aetherpool gear can be enhanced to a maximum strength of +99. In the event the strength of your aetherpool gear exceeds the maximum allowed by your current level, its attributes will be synced.

Palace of the Dead is the first Deep Dungeon players will encounter, with 200 floors and a level cap of 60. All players will begin at level 1 when starting on Floor 1, and level 60 when starting on Floor 51.

Machinist is generally considered the best for PotD, it has the easiest floors of all jobs. Personally I think Summoner, Warrior and Dark knight are right up there with Machinist. Ninja and Reaper are good too.

And, yes, it's doable solo. But solo, you're at least going in knowing who's time you might be wasting if all you want to do is heal.

I think a more realistic expectation assuming: ZERO upgrades, no carry, using matched party system with randoms, would be between 4 to 7 hours. And again, iirc you only need to beat floor 50 to "clear" PotD for HoH content. The PotD story actually concludes at floor 100. 101 - 200 is completely optional.

Rewards. Players will also receive one Gelmorra Shard upon defeating the boss of Floor 50. Gelmorra Shards may be exchanged with E-Una-Kotor for miscellaneous rewards. In addition, if aetherpool equipment is at +30 or above and Floor 50 has been completed, players can receive an Padjali weapon from E-Una-Kotor.

Thus, you'll be able to start from either Floor 1 or Floor 51 (with or without groups). Also, PotD's story continues up to Floor 100. There are more floors beyond that, but they're there just for the challenge (and can only be accessed with a fixed group, not a matched one).

PotD will cap you at level 40. The second half of the dungeon has level 45+ enemies so you will want to hit that cap first. You should start it after Heim or complete the main story and world back to chapter 4 and complete it there, either one.

PotD is a pretty good way to hit 50. As are the DR's available to you. Depending on your role, running the highest level exp dungeon a number of times may be faster than PotD. Just be sure that with PotD, you are not just doing 51-60 over and over.

How to get an Aetherpool weapon? ›

Speak to E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud to use these weapons outside of PotD, and speak to the Confederate Custodian in the Ruby Sea for the HoH variety. You'll first need to exchange your Gear Levels for Aetherpool Grips, which can then be traded for the weapons.

Players can enter Heaven-on-High by speaking with Kyusei in Crick in the Ruby Sea. When entering as a party, only the party leader can start the instance.

Even as a group of four, it's easy to die in the daunting gauntlet of enemies, traps and bosses that is Palace of the Dead. As such, "The Necromancer" is granted to the few players who are able to complete all 200 floors solo. Also, one death will send the player back to floor 1.
